Antibiotic Premedication
Those patients who have had an artificial joint placed, artificial heart valve, have had Rheumatic fever, or have a heart murmur with regurgitation should take a precautionary does of antibiotic one hour prior most dental visits. Our staff will help distinguish what procedures require this protection. Currently, components of the American Medical Association are rethinking some aspects of this protocol; dentistry will maintain the protective precaution until advised otherwise. |
